FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (MIB & MHROD)
Q. 1 Please inform that by what time the appearing student
(Graduations Final Year) submit his/her mark sheet/Pass certificate
for Combined Entrance Test?
Ans. 15th September 2005
Q. 2 Please inform if any specialization is needed at the
graduation level.
Ans. No specialization is required at the graduation level
for admission in any of the Courses. A graduate of any discipline
including agriculture, marine engineering, hindi, Sanskrit, physics,
chemistry etc., are eligible for appearing in the entrance test.
Q. 3. Please provide information regarding obtaining Application
From and other details for MIB and MHROD Courses on the net?
Ans. Application Form for 2005, as available on our website
www.commercedsedu.org can be filled up and payment for the entrance
test can be made by crossed demand draft/pay order in favour of "Registrar,
University of Delhi" Payable at State Bank of India, Service
Branch, Delhi (Code No. 7687). The entrance fee is Rs. 500/- for one
course and Rs. 800/- for both the courses. (Rs. 400/- and Rs. 600/-
respectively for SC/ST)
Q. 4 What are MIB and MHROD Courses? What has been the placement
record of these Courses?
Ans. Both are Post-graduate programmes (equivalent to MBA)
with special emphasis on International Business and Human Resource
Development respectively. These programmes have been accepted as minimum
qualification in private sector as well as in Government Undertaking.
For the year 2004 we achieved 100% placement.
Q. 5 When is the last date for submitting application forms?
Ans. 20th January 2005
Q. 6 From where to get the application form for the year 2005?
Ans. The application form for the year 2005 is now available
on the website. It can also be obtained in person or by sending a
draft to the Department to get it by post. The application form is
not sold through any bank branch.
Q. 7 What is the eligibility for admission in the two courses?
Ans. Indian Students:
" Passed Bachelor's Degree examination of the University of Delhi
or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto in any discipline,
with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent thereto in the grading
system. Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination
may also apply provided they are able to produce their mark sheets
before 15th September, 2005.
" Candidate should be minimum 20 year of age as on 1st October
in the year of admission, However, the Vice-Chancellor may relax the
age limit up to 6 months if he deems desirable.
Foreign Students:
" Foreign students studying in Indian University are required
to appear in the Common Entrance Test.
" Foreign students, who have already qualified from Indian University,
are required to submit their latest GMAT scores without which their
application will not be considered.
" Those Foreign students who do not belong to either of the above
categories, i.e. (i) and (ii), are advised to submit their latest
GMAT and TOEFL scores.
In addition, they must obtain clearance from the Department of Education,
Government of India, for pursuing the above programmes at the Department
of Commerce, University of Delhi.
Q. 8 Can a student apply and pursue both the courses simultaneously?
Ans. A student can apply for both the courses simultaneously
but only one course can be pursued at a time. There is one common
entrance test for both the courses.
Q. 9 How many seats are there in each course?
Ans. Total No. of seats in MIB = 40
Total No. of seats in MHROD = 40
Q. 10 Are there any summer training/internship included in
the curriculum?
Ans. All student are required to undertake one summer training
project assignment spread over 8-10 weeks in some organization.
Q. 11 Is there any negative marking in the Entrance Test?
Ans. Yes, if the student writes a correct answer he is awarded
four marks and if wrong answer is written one mark is deducted however
if the question is not attempted, no penalty is imposed.
Q. 12 How is MIB and MHROD different from MBA?
Ans. In MBA, International Business and Human Resource Development
is included only as a part of the curriculum but MIB and MHROD provide
super-specialization in the fields of International Business and Human
Resource Development.
Q. 13 Is the Common Entrance Test on the same pattern as CAT?
Ans. Yes, the Common Entrance Test is on the same pattern as
CAT, excepted that the Common Entrance Test for MIB and MHROD includes
a section on General Knowledge and General Awareness where as CAT
has a separate section on data Interpretation. Here, data interpretation
is included as a part of logical reasoning, English comprehension
and quantitative analysis.
Q. 14 What is the fee structure for the two courses?
Ans. Total fee charged by Delhi University is around Rs. 12,000/-.
In addition a student is required to contribute towards the student
bodies of the two programmes. The contribution to these bodies is
likely to be Rs. 13,000/- for year 2005-2006.
Q. 15 Are papers of Common Entrance test of last few years
available on the net?
Ans. No
Q. 16 Will the institute help eligible students in getting
loans?
Ans. Yes, the institute helps eligible students to get educational
loans from banks.
Q. 17 Can the two courses of MIB and MHROD be pursued through
correspondence?
Ans. No
Q. 18. When and where will the group discussion and interview
be held?
Ans. The group discussion and interviews will be held in the
Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi
during 14th March - 19th March 2005
Q. 19 What is the duration of the test?
Ans. Two hours. (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Q. 20 What will be the centers for the test?
Ans. Common Entrance Test will be held in Delhi, Ahmedabad,
Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow
and Mumbai.
Q. 21 How are the programmes recognized by the industry?
Ans. The two programmes are well recognized. All students have been
placed at senior level positions. Their employers visit the campus
more or less every year depending on the requirements.
Q. 22 Whether students, on completion of the programmes are
awarded diplomas or degrees?
Ans. A student is awarded Post-graduate degree by Delhi University
on completion of the two course.
Q. 23 Would the student be eligible for admission in leading
Universities in Foreign Counties (USA, Canada, UK, Australia etc.)
for higher education (like M.Phil. or Ph.D.)
Ans. Yes, students are eligible for admission in leading Universities
in foreign countries. Many leading Universities around the world have
given very high ranks to our programmes. A large number of students
are pursuing higher studies in leading Universities around the world.
Q. 24 What is the Pedagogy of the Course?
Ans. The Pedagogy includes multifarious activities like workshop,
seminars, case studies, presentations and the annual convention to
foster a multidimensional outlook, critical evaluation skill and comprehensive
understanding of global issues.
