Guest Lecture : Mr. Alok K. Varshney [1991, PGDIM]
Mr. Alok K. Varshney, our very active and esteemed alumni, having an enginnering background, did P.G. Dip. in International Marketing in 1990-91.

Mr Varshney has an invaluable experience of 15 years in the field of Export of Engineering and general products all around the world. He is currently working as General Manager [International Business], Crown Corporation Pvt. Ltd., a part of a business conglomerate with group turn-over of US$100 MN. The company has its presence around the world.

Mr. Varshney, took time out of his busy schedule, and had an interactive session with the students of I and II year of MIB on 25 Sep, 2004. He talked about Leadership Search and Development in today's changing environment.

In his presentation, Mr. Varshney covered various topics, and elaborated on the finer points, introducing the students to world renowned sources on the subject, in this power packed session.

He specifically took up the Duncan's Laws to illustrate the intircacies of the topic under discussion.

Mr. Varshney stressed on the growing importance of LEADERSHIP in a Corporate Business Development in the current scenario. He explained the glaring issues with case studies drawn from the top echelons of corporate world to prove that the contemporary corporate competitiveness is determined by leadership abilities of its executives. Accordingly, the recruitment process and the recruiters give more weightage to candidates who exhibit qualities of motivated leaders, and more so in the present global business scenario.

Mr. Varshney's rich and absorbing presentation was liked by the students a lot, and they interacted very actively.
